When my class arrived there was little work. We were told by numerous people that first years would never be affected by layoffs. Several month in, the axe fell hard on our class, which I think is practically unheard of for a Vault 10 firm that isn't about to go under, or as we later saw, fall at least ten points in the rankings.
Those of us who remain do not have much loyalty to the firm after this, and morale is not good. Management seems clueless about what they should be doing to improve things. We need a change in management.
The firm's continued expansion also concerns me. We're growing too fast and I'm afraid we're going to end up like some other firms before us that made the same mistake. If there's a bubble in China that's about to burst like some people are saying, this could happen sooner than we'd like.
