Wal-Mart Stores Reviewed by Anonymous Employee on Apr 04 . i need advice for jewelry/shoes i was a jewelry dept manager for 15 years when it combined with the shoe dept this has been the worst experience ever. the previous manager either chose not to or could not get her associates to learn how to do anything but put out freight. there are only two aasociates who work in shoes and myself we have soooo much freight coming in that we dont know what is in our backroom and freight is everywhere so pricechanges and filling new modulars are a nightmare! freight from one day is never totally processed so it just gets put on a pallet with the new freight and so on nite after nite management sees the freight in the backroom and after a few days ics is told to shrinkwrap it and put it in the top steel i now have six pallets of freight in the steel some of which never made it to floor! how do i work exceptions pricechanges and try to use the backroom process if the mdse is not binned or allowed to be worked? i need more people to help process the freight and to keep the floor zoned but i am told there are not enough hours in the dept to do that so deal with what i have i have bad feelings for inventory because we are barely able to just freight and exceptions how do we squeeze in inventory prep too? keep in mind i still have jewelry dept duties! i feel overwhelmed and ready to step down when i complain to management they just say do what u can any advice out there? Our jewelry manager has shoes too. After Sept. remodel she will get accesories. On top of that she has been told she may get lingerie. What the??? She says they are trying to make all the older employees leave, so they can hire new people and pay them less.

To #1: Same thing is happening at another store. They are trying to find anything against the higher paid employees to get them out and hire part timers. Jobs are not secured anymore.
