A&O has a policy and that is all it is - it's written on paper and and looks good in "The Lawyer". A day off carrying your blackberry and "available for conference calls" is not a day off. Plus, as a partner, you are only allowed a maximum of 6 months maternity leave. You may as well just work the 5-7 days and get paid for it - properly.
