No more demerits for taking sick days
Please stop giving demerits for Walmart employees taking sick days. It's just wrong.

Demerits for sick days are completly situational your management team dosen't have to coach you for being sick. But some managers are well an @#$% (get it @#$%. Manager haha :p ) but I have one guy working for me that calls out for every stupid little thing, and if your not going to work when I need you then why keep you around? Another person reached the 3 limit, but she had the flu so I can let that slide. It's all up to the idividual manager and reason for your absence, but don't expect them to be understanding if you call out every other day that's not good business.

As a Wal Mart Associate i would say that they need to find a better solution to their policies. For example every time you call in it is unexcused absent if you have an doctors excuse or not. (Even if you are sick doesnt mean you will always go to the doctor.) I was coached for my children being sick once a month for six months. So you think Management goes by the same policies as hourly associates do? @#$% No or they would have been fired just like hourly assoicates. I can also see the other side as well. People do take off just because they dont feel like coming into work. That is where good judgement would come into play. If Management knew their employees like they say the do then it would be easy to figure out whos faking and who isnt.

I think that these policies are being brought to the attention of the public. Wal-Mart will probably have to change soon just for good PR.

Really people. The problem I see is that everyone calls in for a stomach virus or a runny nose, or a tooth ache, or a headache, the list can go on and on. The reality is that no one wants to work anymore you are all lazy and want to be paid for setting at home.... And we wonder Why other countries excell over the U.S.

They used to do the doctor's note as an excuse and it was abused...hence this policy that we have now.

This is why you have personal days... you use the vacation days to take off in advance.. and personal days when you have something come up and you are unable to come into work.

The policy is more than fare it just needs enforced evenly! 4 absences in a rolling 6 month period before you are even spoken to! I had a job that if you were sick once and the boss thought you were kidding he would show you were the door was! Sick 7 times before they could terminate you; that is not even as strict as most school districts.

To how old are you?12? A dr. note is rediculous! You can miss 3 days in a row and it counts as one absence. but put vacation or personal time in for your first day and it becomes excused. Three tardies add up to one unexcused absence. Anyone that is serious about their job knows that there is alot of taken advantage with the assoc. More people ought to be coached. Three unexcused absences in a 6 month period is rediculous! #5:
