U get ur 1st eval after 90 days but you don't get a raise no more then after ur 1 yr is when u get ur raise....that's what I call cheap

If u have open avaibility then your suppose to get at least 33 hrs but that's not always the case i have to complain to mgmt to get my 40

Guest | Jul 20, 2010
For the new employee your evaluation can be reviewed 30 days to 90 days. Be assure they are keeping track of what you do to see if you are company material.

Walmart can cut your hours, but if you have been with the company for quite some time I would suggest applying for unemployment for the days they take away.

Guest | Jul 20, 2010
I'm a full time employee and ask wal mart just cut my hours drastically are they aloud to do that

Guest | Jul 20, 2010
Customer Service is low at our Store! Not enough staff. Is this so our Store Manager can get a big bonus? We are pushed hard to take place of lesser crew.

Guest | Jul 20, 2010
Why am I being taken from the electronics department on nights to work other areas of the store with no one to watch the money in the registers? (In Michigan)

Guest | Jul 20, 2010
I want to know that when you are a new employee, when do you get your first evaluation?

I work at a Walmart in Texas....the managers at our store have huge favorites, and they get away with murder, yet others like myself end up having to work over

Guest | Jul 13, 2010
i work at walmart and i am very stressed and unhappy cause the managers have a certain people that dont have to do anything

Guest | Jul 10, 2010
My store is doing its best to get rid of long term and full time associates and hire part time help. This has been going on since March.

Guest | Jul 1, 2010
The moral in my store is at an all time low. We should hear the results of the Grass Roots Surveys on Friday.

No more demerits for taking sick days
Please stop giving demerits for Walmart employees taking sick days. It's just wrong.

Yeah, I agree, this is ridiculous.

But then you have people calling in for no reason or faking sick just because they don't want to work.

Many companies have a point system for calling off. Walmart just words theirs differently. Most place don't allow up to 3 days called off to only count as one.

It's all whether your member of management excuses your absences.. if you're sick.. well that's not their fault obviously and while I do understand associate frustration we still have a business to run and with tardies.. if you are late 3 times that counts as 1 absence. its amazing the people that actually slide through with poor absenteeism and are not coached and should have been or had been coached twice over.

i think theres an easy fix for this, we should be able to bring in a doctors note for when we are sick instead of them just being like Oh darn sucks for you, because people who are faking sick arent going to go through the trouble of getting a note if they arent really sick

It sucks that you need to miss one day before you can get sick pay. there are a lot of people who only need one day to recover

I would say that is a hard call, many people would use sick days as vacation days. The idea that you don't get paid until the second helps to stop this. I am one of those who just about never gets sick, so when I do I typically only need one day so I lose out. It does help that after you get so much sick time it turns into personal time at half the rate.

The policy at my store is second day must have a doctors note. I can agree with this, but third day you must fill out a leave of absence . This can cause undue burdens on the Associate who sick and their family. Why isnt a doctors note enough. We work for our sick leave why do we have to pull teeth to use it. We are humans they are robots

There is a problem with requiring a doctor's note though; some people, such as myself, do not have medical insurance. I can't go to the doctor and pay the full amount JUST to get a note saying I was sick. Hell, instead of a doctor's note, will they take a trashcan full of my vomit as proof I was sick? Geez.

As stated by another the system is not strict compared to most. Also any doctor almost will right a note saying you have been seen. So ppl would call in all the time , so no coverage , no customer , no store. I hate hearing ppl complain about attendance at wal-mart. You can call in literally for 9 days in a rolling six month period and not even get coached if the they are in sets of three. That is so crazy. Your talking 18 days a year. Go to a factory and try to do that.
